Yep, I watch American Idol.  I’ve been watching it since the show’s fourth season and have secretly loved it every year (except that year that Ellen was a judge).  It’s my guilty pleasure.

Here’s some thoughts that went through my head after tonight’s finale:

• They really need a girl to win next season.  For the past five season a white guy with a guitar has won.  I was pretty sure that Jessica Sanchez was going to win tonight since she has an amazing voice, but I’m happy Phillip Phillips won.  Overall it was the best musician who won instead of the best singer.
• I wonder if Jennifer Lopez will return next season?  I secretly hope not and that they replace her with a popular country artist.  It’s nothing against Jennifer, I do like her on the show but I just heard rumors that she might be leaving the show so now I’m pondering who they could replace her with.
• I would never propose to someone in front of Ryan Seacrest.  He really bugs me.
• Funny how they didn’t have Lauren Alania perform at all during this season.  That kinda shows where her career is going.  Sweet girl with a good voice but her album really wasn’t that great.  Must be hard to be compared to Carrie Underwood and then not deliver the same as her.
• Reason why I think Phillip won…he was himself the whole time.  He didn’t try to be someone else, he didn’t try to dress differently, he just performed and looked the way he wanted.
• I can’t wait to see a Phillip Phillips concert!
• Would have been cool to see all the past winners perform at tonight’s finale.

Note how even though I said I’m happy Phillip won tonight that I still thought Jessica deserved to win.  I chose to not vote in this season’s finale just to see where things would go, but maybe next season I’ll actually vote during the finale for who I really think should win…or not, haha
